So who is this CBL guy anyway? Well, I am a husband, a father and a small businessman. I split my time and energy three ways; my family, my businesses and my community involvement. My goal in life is to leave a mark and make a difference. Whether it is through my work as a professional wealth manager, my work in philanthropy or my involvement in the traditional shaving community, I spend each day working to improve the lives of others because that’s what I enjoy doing.
Several years ago I joined an internet shaving forum, in search of the barber shop smells and experience I remembered from my childhood. It wasn’t long before I got involved and made a few close friends. I came in search of those barbershop smells and experiences I remembered from my youth …but I stayed for the brotherhood.
Inspired by a puck of Vintage Williams Tonsorial shaving soap someone had “pif’d” me and armed with a little knowledge I found online, my journey into the artisan soap world began when I set out to make a shaving soap as good as the rather rare Williams Tonsorial. With a background in science and laboratory, I found the science of soap as interesting as it was fun. I read several old texts on soap making and began to employ what I had learned to create new and better versions of my original soap. Now, with a LOT of experimentation behind me I can confidently say my soaps are among the best performing soaps available.
Each ingredient in my soaps, tonic and apothecary oil have been purposely chosen because of the characteristics they impart in the product and how they impact your overall experience. I make every soap so it performs the way I would want a soap to perform, whether it’s one of my premium lines or a more basic line the lather will always perform and you will always feel like you got a great value when you buy a CBL product.
